Smiling Is Infectious
by Spike Milligan
Smiling is infectious,
you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner
and someone saw my grin.
When he smiled I realised
I’d passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile,
then I realised its worth.
A single smile, just like mine
could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin,
don’t leave it undetected.
Let’s start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!
So fancy passing a smile aroundΒ π
Beautiful post ! Just this morning my husband and I were singing the old song:
‘When you’re smiling, the whole world smiles with you..’ π€

happy inside
glide
around
and over daily
derisions
and unwise decisions

A delightful poem. π I miss smiles, that are now hidden behind the masks. I know they are still there, because I can see them in strangers’ eyes, but it just isn’t the same.

I still see smiles, for when you look into the eyes of another, the smile is within their eyes. Then if you are bold enough, you might say, “good morning” or “hope you are safe today,” or “may God bless you and keep you safe!” And then pause a moment, for you might just get a response like, “staying as safe as can,” or “good day to you,” or “God bless you.” Something wonderful has just occurred, you had a conversation! Who knows, you might have just begun a new friendship. Things can be scary, but we don’t have to let it scare us into not developing friendships. People are looking for hope these days, so share some of yours with others.
